Sanderson beam engine

A Sanderson beam engine, the work of a highly skilled craftsman, a retired gunsmith who was also responsible for the fine TE2 inch scale Fowler agricultural engine we've recently sold.

On display for many years in the builder's house, it suffered damage at some stage whilst being moved, resulting in a new flywheel, fabricated from wood, to be fitted.

It looks remarkably like the original, although the engine would require the mass provided by an iron flywheel if intended to run again.
