Stuart steam plant, No.4 reversing engine

Well made specimen of a Stuart No.4, fitted with Stephenson's reversing gear, drain cocks, water pump and a displacement lubricator. It's steamed from a gas-fired cross flue water-tube boiler with water tank alongside, fed by the mechanical pump. The No.4 is a powerful engine and capable of high speed - ideal for driving a dynamo.

The boiler has been tested and comes with a current Southern Federation certificate.
