Yarrow boiler steam plant

A large, rather imposing steam plant featuring a Yarrow boiler coupled to a twin cylinder engine comprising much of a Walschaerts gear locomotive chassis. Feed is by injector, steam and mechanical pumps.

The work of an experienced engineer who had articles ranging from boiler making to the manufacture of injectors published in "Model Engineer" magazine over the years.

Coal-fired, it hasn't been steamed in some years. The engine and pump turn over freely and run on air, the three note chime whistle sounds superb!
