Stuart Turner No.9 mill engine with governor and feed pump

A regular visitor to these pages, we've had this No.9 in several times. Most recently owned by a long-time customer and collector of fine stationary engines in the Welsh marches who bought it from us in 2023, it's recently come back to us having been on display in the intervening years

A Stuart Turner No.9 mill engine - one of the best looking designs produced by the company to our eyes - complete with governor, boiler feed pump, drain cocks and displacement lubricator.

A particularly well made engine, mounted on an attractive polished wood base and nicely detailed - we liked the grooved flywheel, double-nutted big end bearings, provision of jacking bolt holes in the cylinder end cover and neatly formed drip tray beneath the bedplate.

Runs on air, although with some wear in the main bearings.
