7 1/4 inch gauge Class 20 battery-electric

A 7 1/4 inch gauge Class 20 battery electric, complete with sound card and remote control hand set.

The bogies are each fitted with a 24 volt motor, chain driven to all wheels - control is by dual Parkside 24 volt 100 amp units with regenerative braking.

Runs well and the sampled sound adds greatly to the ambience! There's some video of it running up and down the yard here.

(The missing axlebox cover seen - or rather not seen - in the photographs opposite was actually hiding in the bodywork, by the time you read this it will have been reattached!)
