3 inch scale Burrell 6nhp agricultural engine

A 3 inch scale Burrell 6nhp agricultural engine, an award-winning model gaining a Silver Medal and taking the Aveling-Barford Trophy - in addition to a Highly Commended certificate for paintwork - at the 48th Model Engineering Exhibition in 1979, held that year at Wembley.

Completed in 1978, the engine remains in as-new, unsteamed condition. It has had a recent twice working pressure hydraulic test with new certification issued, the engine runs beautifully on air.

Not really a great deal we can say about this one that the photographs opposite don't already show. Fit and finish is of a high order throughout, the paintwork and lining were well done in the first place and remain in excellent condition.

We love the detailing including split pinned bearing caps fitted with nuts and a locking half nut; eccentric sheaves with relieved centres to simulate the full-size casting and the delicate, beautifully-proportioned ribbed lubricator drive arm.
