Yes. We are always interested in purchasing live steam locomotives and traction engines in any condition, from running examples to part-completed projects and restoration candidates. We can buy outright, sell on commission, or discuss part exchange options.

Yes. We are happy to consider part exchange against most items we sell, including steam engines and workshop-related equipment.

Absolutely. All engines listed on the website are held on our premises and are available for inspection by appointment. We encourage prospective buyers to view items in person whenever possible.

Every model is thoroughly inspected in our workshop, photographed and accompanied by a condition report. We aim to describe all stock as accurately and impartially as possible, including any faults or defects.

Yes. Locomotives and traction engines are normally supplied with a 90-day written warranty unless otherwise stated. Warranty details will be shown in the individual listing.

Everything we sell is supplied on 14 days' approval. If an item is not what you expected or differs from its description, you may return it in substantially the same condition for a refund of the purchase price, less shipping costs. See our returns policy here.

Where applicable, details of hydraulic and steam tests are included within the product listing. Test status and expiry dates are shown where available. Some smaller, historic or project engines may not have been tested, and this will be clearly stated.

Yes. We can arrange delivery throughout the UK and internationally. Please contact us for a shipping quotation before purchase.

Yes. Collection from our workshop is welcome by appointment. If you intend to collect, we can hold purchased items for a limited period, although storage charges may apply after the first month.

We accept payment by bank transfer and debit card. Credit card payments may be accepted by prior arrangement for higher-value purchases. We do not accept cash or cheque payments.

We do not normally take deposits to reserve items. However, if you would like to arrange a viewing, we are often able to hold an item for a short period by prior agreement.

We normally pay 75% of the agreed purchase price on collection, with the balance paid within seven days following inspection and acceptance.
