1 1/2 inch Allchin "Royal Chester" agricultural engine

A 1 1/2 inch scale Allchin agricultural engine to Bill Hughes' "Royal Chester" design, something of a barn find having recently emerged from a container where it's been stored for the last twenty years, along with other traction engines and locomotives by the same builder which have arrived with us recently.

Complete, the engine turns over freely. The paintwork is dull and brightwork covered in light surface rust.

The second engine constructed by this builder, it was started in 1957 and completed in the late 1960s. Its purpose built - and fabulously vintage-looking - crate bears a rally sticker from 1969.

A worthwhile restoration project, it would be nice to see the engine restored to its former splendour.
