2 1/2 inch gauge 2-6-2

Well engineered 2 1/2 inch gauge 2-6-2 in good running order and with much fine detail including dummy boiler washout plugs, handrails, ejector pipe, rivet detail to running boards, vacuum brake hoses, screw-link couplings etc.

 

Copper superheated boiler fed by axle pump with auxiliary hand pump in tender.

Two cylinders with piston valves actuated by Walshaerts valve gear. Screw reverser in cab operates the weighshaft through a pair of shafts and ball joints - it is beautifully made and works very smoothly. Mechanical lubricator between cylinders driven by eccentric from front driving axle.

The locomotive is fitted with fully compensated steam brakes, the tender with a screw down brake.

The tender is well-detailed with opening coal hatch to footplate, hinged and folding cabside door, steps, handrails and dummy vacuum gear.
