2 1/2 inch gauge coal-fired GNR Atlantic

A well-built Great Northern large-boilered Atlantic with Walschaerts gear - a particularly handsome design.

Paintwork and lining remain in good condition, there is light surface rust on the motionwork and valve gear which would clean off easily. Of some antiquity, it's been repainted in recent years and apparently not run since.

Boiler is substantially locomotive type with firetubes, water jacketed firebox although with dry backhead.

The engine rolls along freely and makes an attempt to run on air in fairly desultory fashion.
