Built to a fairly basic standard with tar-brush type paintwork, the chassis runs on air in both directions, slightly better in reverse than forwards.

Virtually all the boiler fittings leak, as well as the inner dome to barrel joint. This has evidently been leaking in the past as four of the hold down bolts have stripped threads, presumably where somebody has tried to overcome a defective gasket face by overtightening them (don't do it - it never works).

The boiler itself appeared dry and structurally sound on hydraulic test at twice working pressure, however in the absence of previous documentation it will need to be dismounted and the cladding removed for a thorough examination and shell test before certification could be issued.
