3 1/2 inch gauge Juliet 0-4-0T

A venerable example of "Juliet", LBSC's beginner's design for an 0-4-0 shunting engine, somewhat overshadowed by her younger sister "Tich" which appeared a couple of years later and comprehensively put everything else of similar size and aspiration firmly in the shade.

This one came to us as part of a small collection of engines, along with the "Petrolea" listed recently.

The chassis runs well on air in both directions although the regulator leaks and requires servicing. The boiler showed no signs of leaking at twice working pressure on hydraulic test however, in the absence of any previous history, would require lifting from the frames for an inspection and test with cladding off before further use.
