32/45mm gauge Garratt 2-4-0 + 0-4-2

The locomotive was serviced and reboilered by the talented Dave Mees at Abbeybach Engineering in June 2025, the new boiler supplied by Jack Shawe of Shawe Engineering.

The locomotive steams well and runs in both directions. Struggling with our rolling road, we laid a short track on the floor of the workshop to accommodate - a much more amusing way to test a locomotive, we really must get a permanent test track laid one of these days.

(As an aside - our favourite bookshop in the world has a G1 layout running on top of the bookcases, about two feet above head height, which while impractical for live steam is nonetheless a source of great envy).
