5 inch gauge BR Standard Class 2

A particularly well made 5 inch gauge Standard Class 2, built to the Don Young design and in good order throughout. Machining work is to a high standard throughout, fit and finish of the valve gear is excellent.

The smaller and, for my money, one of the prettiest of the standard classes; it was derived from Ivatt's LMS Mogul. 65 were built in the 1950s, four survived into preservation including one at the Bluebell Railway which is being converted into one of the now-extinct 2-6-2 tank engine versions of the design.

The engine runs very well, notching up cleanly in both directions - there's a clip of it in steam outside the workshop here.
