5 inch gauge "Britannia"

A 5 inch gauge Britannia, built from a kit and proving to be the exception that proves the rule, a thoroughly well-sorted machine that goes as well as it looks. Heavily modified when first built, it features many nice detailing bits, a good paintjob and PTFE ringed pistons and valves.

Silver soldered copper boiler with superheaters, 90 psi working pressure, feed by twin injectors and axle pump with hand pump in the tender. Cast iron cylinders with piston valves actuated by Walshaerts gear with screw reverser in cab. Cab fittings have been replaced with nice quality components.

Complete with all original build documentation and a well-made steel-framed carrying cradle.
