5 inch gauge GWR 57XX 0-6-0PT

A 5 inch gauge GWR 0-6-0PT to LBSC's "Pansy" design, a well-built engine with commercial boiler by Morewood.

Built very much as a club running engine, we like the workmanlike layout of the backhead, clearly visible sight feeder for the cylinder lubricator and easy to use knurled "cool grip" valve handwheels.

It steams freely and runs well, with clear, well defined exhaust beats (and a very nice whistle!). Crosshead and hand pumps draw water from the pannier tank, the injector is piped up to take water from a tank on a driving truck.

Boiler is structurally sound on hydraulic test, although with a weep from the blowdown valve bush which will require repair.
