5 inch gauge LMS 4F 0-6-0

A commercially built 5 inch gauge LMS 4F, supplied new by Maxitrak as a ready-to-run engine.

We've had several of these through the workshop in the past - free-steaming, they go well. This one runs and has a sound boiler, but needs a variety of minor jobs doing over winter.

Motion runs slowly in forwards gear, not at all in reverse; the injector clack leaks slightly, although not enough to stop the injector working; safety valves accumulate, they need stripping and cleaning; cross head pump needs stripping and new seals.

Jobs requiring time in the workshop rather than any great expenditure.
