5 inch gauge LNER B1 No.1003 "Gazelle"

A 5 inch gauge LNER B1, No.1003 "Gazelle", built to Martin Evans' popular "Springbok" design. Work to date includes:

• air-running chassis
• smokebox with chimney and smokebox door with hinges and locking handles
• silver soldered copper boiler
• set of stainless steel superheaters
• brass cab
• complete, painted tender
• drawings

The boiler has never been fired and is blanked up ready for hydraulic test - an initial squeeze showed a multiplicity of leaks, it will require work or replacement, depending on your facility with a propane torch.
