5 inch gauge LNER B1

A well-advanced 5 inch gauge LNER B1, finely made by the same builder as the LNER A1 "Madge Wildfire" we sold recently - he had previously completed an LNER A4 and B1, both in 7 1/4 inch gauge.

Work to date comprises chassis with motionwork, valve gear, cylinders and drain cocks with linkage and screw reverser stand.

The silver soldered copper boiler has been well made, neatly flanged plates showing good solder penetration.

Tender chassis is complete, with brakes fitted - if required, Model Engineer's Laser can supply profiled brass for the tender tank (along with many other parts for the locomotive as well).

Complete with profiled cab sides and spectacle plate.
