5 inch gauge Super Simplex 0-6-0T

A particularly well-made example of Martin Evans' 5 inch gauge "Super Simplex", a rare thing compared to the numbers of "vanilla" Simplices that come and go. This one has recently come in from the same stable as the fine "King Arthur" we sold recently, it has had occasional use on the owner's garden railway. I've driven it regularly, if infrequently, when as his club boiler inspector I visit for the annual test - always been impressed by how well it goes.

Silver soldered superheated boiler, 110psi working pressure, feed by axle pump and twin injectors with auxiliary hand pump. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Walschaerts gear, pole reverser in the cab. Displacement lubricator with sight feeder in the cab and GWR style jockey valve connected to the regulator. Steam brakes.
