Boxford 4 1/2 inch lathe with stand

A venerable old Boxford 4 1/2 inch lathe, this one has come to us, along with a milling machine, from the workshop of an experienced model engineer.

In well-used condition, with scruffy paintwork, it's complete with some equipment and tooling, including three and four jaw chucks, tailstock chuck, faceplate, fixed steady, revolving centre and a selection of cutting tools.

Dating from around the 1950s it is, unsurprisingly, an imperial machine with a threads per inch screwcutting gearbox.

Fitted with a single phase motor, running from a standard 13A socket.
