The design of "General Gordon" was inspired by Kerr, Stuart & Company engines of the early twentieth century, themselves based on a French Decauville design.
Sharing the same well-proven boiler and running gear as its "Stafford" and "Feldbahn" stablemates, the engine offers a powerful, free-steaming club locomotive with a well proven, easy to maintain chassis.
