Bachmann Denver & Rio Grande K27 Mikado

A Denver & Rio Grande K27 "Mudhen" Mikado. A three foot, narrow gauge design produced from 1903, they were originally built as compounds until, the complexity outweighing the hoped for economy, all were converted to simple expansion in 1907. Two engines survive in preservation.

An imposing size model, at just over three feet long with tender and snow plough. In very good condition, on test it ran in either direction - only thing of note was the front headlamp not working.
