1/10 scale Markie gas-fired Showmans engine

A gas-fired Markie Showmans Road Locomotive. Like many of the Markies that we get in, the engine appears to have spent much of its life on display - the paintwork is in excellent condition, brightwork and tyres show little evidence of use.

On test the gas burner proved erratic - it will require servicing or replacement - and the safety valves were ineffective.

There's a good, in-depth writeup on ownership & optimisation of a similar model on the Wilmslow and Lindow Light Railway blog (a worthy resource for anyone interested in 16mm gauge railways and other small-scale models).
