3 1/2 inch gauge LNER V2 2-6-2

An early stage 3 1/2 inch gauge LNER V2 2-6-2 to the Clarkson design, complete with drawings.

Work to date is to a good standard and comprises a rolling chassis, machined cylinders, a silver soldered combustion chamber boiler and largely complete tender.

The boiler had a twice pressure shell test at 160psi for 80psi working with club certification issued for same in August 2019. That said, on test here we noted a minor leak showing as a bead of water on the firebox throatplate to combustion chamber seam and another from one of the regulator screws on top of the barrel.

If you need some inspiration, we sold a super one of these way back in 2008 - there are pictures and a writeup in the archive here.

There is a folder containing builder's notes, club boiler history and a large quantity of black & white photographs showing details of the full-size locomotive.

Complete with a pair of purpose-built carrying boxes for locomotive and tender.
