3/4 inch scale Michael Holden agricultural engine

A 3/4 inch scale agricultural engine by Michael Holden of Banbury, a commercial builder of well-regarded models in the 1970s loosely based on Allchin designs. The company was eventually acquired by Maxwell Hemmens, after which engines continued to be produced under the Taylor-Hemmens badge.

This is a coal-fired engine, largely complete including grate although missing ashpan; it turns over freely and runs on air.

Due a cosmetic overhaul, we sold a nice one in 2018 which shows what they can look like well painted and lined - there are pictures in the archive here.
