The 2023 UKCA marked boiler by Western Steam has had hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued. All water feeds - injector, crosshead and hand pumps - worked with quiet efficiency, the safety valve is a pop-type device giving reliable closing.
On test the engine proved free-steaming and ran well in either direction, keeping itself in steam and water without need of the blower.
