5 inch gauge Class 35 Hymek battery electric

A 5 inch gauge battery-electric Class 35 Hymek D7017 - the original locomotive is one of four in preservation, currently residing at West Somerset Railway.

A freelance build, the locomotive is powered by four Unitemotor 12v x 120w motors, each chain driving one axle. Hand controller is a homebrew job controlling the speed only, with direction determined by a switch on the locomotive chassis.

Runs in both directions, sound card is functional and linked to acceleration/deceleration, though sound sampling and quality both have scope for improvement. Complete with interior detailing. Will require a pair of 12V batteries, but otherwise in running order.
