5 inch gauge LNWR 910 Class 2-4-2T

A beautifully built LNWR 910 class 2-4-2T, Webb's elegant main line tank locomotive built at Crewe Works from the 1890s. I'm a fan of the London, North Western - like the lines, like the livery, really like the understated nameplates on the passenger locomotives.

The work of an experienced engineer with other fine engines to his credit, the locomotive is in fine mechanical order and runs very well indeed. The build is marked throughout with careful detailing - some cosmetic, some functional such as the quickly removable water filter in the bottom of the bunker tank.

Silver soldered copper boiler, 90psi working pressure, feed by injector and mechanical pump with auxiliary hand pump in the bunker. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Stephenson's gear with twin-start screw reverser in the cab. Sight feed lubricator. Rear of the cab is removable for driving, giving good access to the well laid out controls.

The engine steams freely and runs well - there's a clip of it here.

The engine comes with a length of ballasted display track, complete with acrylic dust cover.
