A Maxitrak "Swallow", their take on a typical small standard gauge shunter, this one in Walschaerts gear form.
The commercially-built, CE-marked boiler has had recent hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued - a new clack valve has been fitted for the axle pump, the water feeds work well.
The engine ran well in both directions on test, needing just a touch of blower to maintain pressure - not uncommon running off-load on rollers.
A straightforward, easy to maintain engine - pretty much ideal for a beginner in this gauge. Offered with a starter kit of coal and oil, set of firing irons and 12 months warranty.
