SECOND HAND
12114
Powered by one of the then ubiquitous Briggs & Stratton four stroke engines, their cast iron cylinders and side valve heads contributed to great reliability and longevity in a range of applications, from pumping sets to generators and lawnmowers.
Drive is taken through a centrifugal clutch to a home made gearbox which provides forwards and reverse via a pair of sprockets, selected by means of dog clutches with a selector lever in the cab.
Unused for some time when it came to us, with fresh fuel in it the engine started, the locomotive ran in both directions. Idling became more reliable after twenty minutes running - stripping and cleaning the carburettor would likely improve it further.
Complete with a well built storage/transport crate.
