No.4-style vertical engine with reversing gear

This one has come to us as one of a pair of engines from the late builder's daughter.

Beautifully made, we suspect it used castings from the builder's own patterns, closely following the design of Stuart's No.4 vertical engine.

Fit and finish of machined parts is very good, Fitted with Stephensons reversing gear, it's a beautifully set up engine that runs well in either direction.
