45mm gauge GER 0-6-2T

A 45mm gauge spirit-fired GER 0-6-2T.

Rather vintage in look & feel, the paintwork has seen better days - rather in-keeping with the age of the engine, I'd be tempted to leave it exactly as it is!

The engine turns over freely by hand, but doesn't run on air - after some investigation into the slip eccentric valve gear, the most likely cause is a derangement or design error with the valve placement.

Difficult to get at in situ, it will need dismantling to get into the valve chest to diagnose further.
