5 inch gauge Class 47 battery electric

A 5 inch gauge Class 47 battery electric, fitted with two motors per bogie driven by a 4QD 24 volt, 120 amp controller with remote handset.

An older engine, somewhat grubby and with tired paintwork, it would be an ideal candidate for a cosmetic overhaul over next winter.

Fitted with a pair of horns and a sound card, the latter paired with a small and remarkably tinny sounding speaker (mercifully fitted with a mute switch).

The locomotive requires a pair of batteries - tested on our workshop set it ran well in either direction, the sound card and running lights all operational, horns appear to be wired up although with no visible button to operate.
