5 inch gauge Maxitrak J94 0-6-0T

A 5 inch gauge J94 Austerity saddle tank, commercially produced by Maxitrak. It captures the look of the iconic, ruggedly-proportioned prototype - one which, curiously, has rarely been modelled by scratch-builders in any gauge.

Bought new in 2022, it's a one owner engine in excellent condition, complete with original manufacturer's packing crate.

The locomotive weighs in at a little over 70 pounds, making it easy to handle and transport. Capable of negotiating an eight foot radius curve, it is suitable for the most compact of garden railways.

The boiler has had hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued. On test it proved free-steaming, running well with well-defined, even beats in either direction.

Supplied with12 months warranty and a starter kit including coal, oil and a set of firing irons.
