7 1/4 inch gauge Feldbahn 0-6-0T

A brand new Feldbahn 0-6-0 which we supplied in kit form to an experienced model engineer in 2018 - a retired man with several other projects on the go, he's done a fine job of putting it together.

It came back to us recently in exchange for a 4 inch scale traction engine which he fancied as his next project, unsteamed although run on air in his workshop.

It's been through the workshop here for a once-over before hydraulic and steam tests, followed by an hour running on the rolling road.

It will probably come as no surprise when we say it steams freely and runs well; injectors are faultless; the vacuum pulls 20 inches of mercury and the chime whistle sounds lovely. A credit to the builder, he's done a good job (and enjoyed himself while doing it, he reports).

Paintwork is brush-painted - "many coats" of Craftmaster green we're told.

Supplied with handbook; starter kit with firing irons, coal and water treatment; new boiler certification and 12 months warranty - exactly the same as you'd get with a new, factory-built engine.
