3 1/2 inch gauge North Eastern R1 4-4-0

A well-advanced 3 1/2 inch gauge North Eastern R1 4-4-0 to LBSC's "Miss Ten to Eight" design.

Work to date comprises a largely complete chassis less the front bogie, with cylinders, Joy valve gear and crank axle all erected, and machined driving wheels to fit. Currently stiff to turn over, it will require stripping and reassembly to run on air.

The boiler looks to be well made, with neatly flanged plates and good solder penetration.

The tender is complete, if rather crudely painted.

A handsome design, we've had several in over the years, including this one which sold back in April - quite the nicest one we've ever seen.
