3 1/2 inch gauge G&SWR 4-6-0

A 3 1/2 inch gauge Glasgow & South Western Railway "381" class 4-6-0, one of only two built by The North British Locomotive Works to James Manson's design in 1911.

Well advanced with substantially complete chassis including motionwork and valve gear, copper boiler, platework including cab and running boards and a complete bogie tender.

The work of a prolific engineer, we've had many of his engines - both complete and part-finished - over the years. Always a man for a rare or interesting prototype his enthusiasm, at times, running far ahead of workshop hours available to complete everything on the bench!
