3 inch scale Allchin agricultural engine

A well-advanced 3 inch scale Allchin agricultural engine by an experienced model engineer - older readers may remember his 2 inch scale Fowler A7 which we sold in 2009.

Work to date is to a high standard, we'd put the project at better than 90% complete. Work to complete includes:

• Gear guards
• Boiler cladding
• Reach rod and lifting lever for weighshaft
• Safety valve bobbins and spring bar
• Boiler fittings, including clack valves and injector
• Make and fit water pump
• Paint

Rear wheels have been fitted with strakes, with steel bands over should it be desired to fit rubber tyres.

Not common in this scale, we've had a few over the years, including a super one by a friend of ours - now sadly no longer with us - which also had a John Rex boiler; there are pictures and further information about that engine in the archive here.
