5 inch gauge American 4-4-0 "Washington"

We sold this one back in March 2010, it's recently come back in part exchange for a gauge 1 locomotive. In pretty much exactly the same condition as last time it was here - words below are from the last time it was here, the pictures opposite were taken this week.

"Washington" is Reeves' offering for a finely-detailed American 4-4-0 from the mid-nineteenth century, designed from original Roger Locomotive & Machine Works drawings.

This engine is well advanced, the hastily applied grey primer and primary school-standard red paintwork makes it look grim, but it would be worth a serious strip, clean and tidy up session - underneath there is a lot of work already completed (not to mention about fifteen hundred pounds worth of castings and a professionally made silver-soldered copper boiler by R.Chambers).

There is a complete set of drawings, castings to finish and a large quantity of machined and part-machined components. Another one of those projects which requires time but little further expenditure.
