7 1/4 inch gauge LNER Z4

An unusual model, a 7 ¼ inch gauge version of an LNER Z4 0-4-2T. Originally built with slip eccentric valve gear, in recent times somebody has fitted a reverser, reach rod and weighshaft preparatory to converting to Stephenson's gear.

Work to date is a complete rolling chassis, up to running stage. Cast iron slide valve cylinders, slide valves actuated by slip-eccentric valve gear, axle pump fitted with a hand pump in the bunker. There is platework for the cab, a set of side tanks complete smokebox assembly.
