3 1/2 inch gauge Britannia "Dornoch Firth"

A 3 1/2 inch gauge "Britannia" to the LBSC design; acquired by the previous owner part-built, he intended to finish it as 70054 "Dornoch Firth".

Work to date comprises a well built locomotive chassis, largely complete with motionwork and valve gear fitted.

The combustion chamber boiler is copper, silver soldered. We've done a twice working pressure shell test on it and, apart from a minute pinhole leak at the dome flange it proved sound, dry throughout.

Tender chassis and tank are by a lesser hand, although could provide parts for making something closer in quality to the locomotive.

Complete with a quantity of loose parts including dome and grate castings; stainless steel superheaters; most boiler fittings, including water gauge and pressure gauge; mechanical lubricator and a set of name/works/shed and tender plates.

There is a quantity of original 1950s "Model Engineer" magazines detailing the build, photographs of full-size locomotive details, along with both model and some full-size drawings, marked up "British Railways Locomotive Drawing Office, Derby".
