5 inch gauge Great Central "Director" 4-4-0

A venerable 5 inch gauge Great Central Director 4-4-0 and I really mean venerable with this one, the tender carries a plate giving an overhaul date of 1938! The rest of the engine looks thoroughly vintage, the backhead typical of pre-war construction with cast firehole door mount, displacement lubrication and finely-proportioned valve gear.

The boiler is in copper, calked and soft soldered.
