3 1/2 inch gauge LMS Royal Scot

An elderly 3 1/2 inch gauge LMS Royal Scot, missing its tender.

Well-built in the first place, though now showing its age with moderate wear in the bottom end. It runs in both directions on air, though slightly breathy and better in reverse than in forwards.

The nutted and caulked superheated boiler proved sound with no signs of leaks or deflection at 120psi, however it will require a twice working pressure test before use. The whistle valve leaks copiously.

The pole reverser has no trigger, with the notches on the underside of the quadrant rather than the topside - you press the whole lever down to operate it. Saves the trouble of folding a trigger, I suppose, but awkward to use in practice.
