Gas-fired steam plant

We sold this to a long-time customer in the Welsh marches back in 2022. It's recently come back to us, having been on display in the intervening years. Still a magnificent thing, we'd still love to know more about it.

Words below are from 2022, photographs opposite were taken in recent days.

An exceptionally fine steam plant comprising gas-fired vertical boiler with hand pump and water reservoir, and a horizontal mill engine with oil separator exhaust.

Fit and finish is to an excellent standard throughout, the engine runs beautifully at low pressure on air - there's some video of it here.

We'd be interested to know more of the history of the model and its builder - with no information as to when it was completed, the earliest reference we have records its sale at Christies, London, in 2001.
