1 1/2 inch scale Marshall portable

A superb model of a Marshall portable engine in 1 1/2 inch scale to the W.J.Hughes design published in "Model Engineer". Whilst many hundreds of his super-detailed Allchin designs have been built over the years, the portable engines are a rarity. This one is beautifully built, the fit and finish of all parts is exceptional. As with all Hughes' designs, the model is highly detailed, right down to a detachable key for the boiler blowdown valve.

I bought this engine quite a while ago, when I still owned a full size portable. It has sat in the workshop ever since but now, with a significant new project under way (of which more in the next "News") I have decided to move it on. It is new and unsteamed, the only thing missing is one hub cap.
