3 inch scale Burrell 6nhp agricultural engine with driving truck

Completed some years previously, it had taken a "Very Highly Commended" award at the 2001 Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition and remains the finest example we've seen of this popular design.

It's recently come back from the man we sold it to fourteen years ago - light use combined with a fastidious approach to cleaning and maintenance has kept the engine in excellent condition throughout, with insignificant mechanical wear and only minor paint blemishes, the result of normal use.

The purpose-built driving truck is heavily ballasted at the rear, allowing the driver to lean forward to steer the engine without upending the cart and is fitted with a pair of five litre water cans.

Since last with us the engine has acquired a handsome pair of headlamps; there is also a variable speed steam-raising blower, firing irons, coal, lighting up charcoal and various tools, including a filling funnel with stand incorporating a marker to ensure the boiler is filled to the correct level, and a small tubular electric heater used to keep the engine free of rust during the winter months.

A complete rally outfit in super condition which needs for nothing (other than a few rallies booked for the coming season!)
