3 1/2 inch gauge GER T19 4-4-0

We last sold this one in February 2019, having had it in once before - it's recently arrived back in part exchange for a Feldbahn (the owner already having a Stafford on his garden railway - obviously a man of impeccable taste).

Pictures and words below are from 2019 - it's in the same condition now, paintwork just as biliously green. Preparing it for steam test we found dark blue paint on the backs of the wheels - if there's ever a time for a repaint it's now, if you need some inspiration there are pictures in the archive of something painted in a more appropriate livery here.

The engine has been steamed this morning, possibly for the first time in may years judging by the amount of dust in the smokebox! It steams freely and runs very well (there's some video of it here), with some wear noted in rods and one big end.

A 3 1/2 inch gauge T19 2-4-0, LBSC's take on Holden's design for the Great Eastern Railway - several were converted for oil-firing, including 760 "Petrolea".

An older engine, well built in the first place although now cosmetically tired in a rather surprising LSWR livery.

Boiler has had a twice working pressure hydraulic test - sound and warrantied as such.

The engine runs beautifully on air, with crisp, even exhaust beats - it notches up well in both directions. The lubricator is driven from the leading wheels, the axle pump is mounted on the tender - perfectly satisfactory on the track, but something to be aware of running on a rolling road.
