4 inch scale Garrett agricultural engine

A 4 inch scale Garrett traction engine, one of the larger agricultural engines we see in this scale.

Boiler was supplied new by Franklin & Bell in 2000. Club tested in April of this year, the engine has current certification for hydraulic and steam tests, with history going back to 2013, and original manufacturer's documentation for initial shell test and material specification.

The engine steams freely and runs well - there's a clip of it running in our yard on a rather wet day last week here.

Paintwork is good if rather grubby, there is some wear in the valve rod guide which will require rebushing at some stage.

Mechanical pump works, but is slow to pickup and feed.

The engine is on rubber tyres and comes with a box of bits including spark arrester, manhole gasket, oil and boiler water treatment and smokebox door maker's plate casting.
