5 inch gauge Class 37 battery electric

A 5 inch gauge Class 37 battery electric, a well-built, nicely detailed locomotive in excellent condition throughout.

Gear-driven by six 24 volt motors - three per bogie - with Mtroniks DCI 120-24 motor controller and handset. Power comes from a pair of Lucas 12 volt, 34Ah batteries - both these gave readings of 100% on our condition meter, they are in excellent condition.

There is an Mtroniks Digisound 602 soundcard fitted, powered by its own separate 7Ah Ultramax battery. The locomotive has red and white running lights fitted at the front, controlled by a switch mounted at the rear, close to the driver.

The chassis is very substantially built from 8mm laser cut steel, with a 6mm base plate giving the locomotive an all-up weight of over 90Kg.

There is an Mtroniks MRLA radio link module included although not fitted, along with a Futaba 6EX transmitter and receiver.
